MINI-IMPLANTS FOR SUCCESS How many times have you recommended that a patient consider dental implants to secure their new dentures, but they insist that it is too expensive. The new Sendax Mini-implants come with an O-ball on the top of the implant which can be used immediately after being placed into type I and II bone. The secret to their success is the use of very soft liners in the denture during the first four to six months, depending on the quality of the bone. This requires no flap surgery, is fast and has minimal discomfort. We have priced this service at $1000 per implant including the final snap placement in the denture. See the article Dr. Brooksby wrote in the March, 2001 Dental Products Reports or our web page at LVIMPLANTS.COM. Call to schedule your patients today.
DRY MOUTH AND MEDICATIONS Are your patients teeth rotting because of the medications you prescribe? Saliva is the natural buffering medium of the mouth. As bacteria produce acids or we eat acidic foods, the saliva neutralizes these acids. When the amount of saliva diminishes, the acids then begin to cause decay, often at a very rapid rate. The only effective prevention is custom made fluoride trays and daily fluoride use. Prescribing these medications? Have your patients see their dentist or call us to have their fluoride trays made. Recent research has shown that many patients develop acidic saliva which causes substantial decay and tooth loss. This may be related to medications or diet.
